We are dedicated and have an understanding in the importance of a clean, relaxed and friendly environment in which our dog patients can swim safely and benefit from the healing qualities of hydrotherapy.
HCH welcome any dog that would like to swim whether it is for recuperation from operations and injuries, pain relief for arthritis, an exercise programme to lose weight or improve their cardio vascular fitness or purely to swim for enjoyment. Every session is tailored to the individual dogs and detailed observations and assessments are documented to carefully monitor the dog's progress and any issues discussed. All dogs swim with qualified and/or experienced hydrotherapists under their strict control and supervision.
In accordance with the Veterinary Surgeons Act of 1966 it is illegal for any treatments such as hydrotherapy to be carried out without the consent of a Veterinary Surgeon. When you book an appointment we simply need your vet's name and practice details and we will contact them directly for you. We are pleased to say that most Veterinary Surgeons recognise the benefits of canine hydrotherapy and are very happy to give their consent.
Highfield Canine Hydrotherapy is registered with the National Association of Registered Canine Hydrotherapists (NARCH). We have a full member, Sarah Hughes, who has achieved Level 3 Certificate in Hydrotherapy for Small Animals.
We have been full members of the Canine Hydrotherapy Association since 2003.
