Highfield Canine Hydrotherapy has a variety of programmes available.

The appropriate programme will be tailored to the requirements of each individual. Each session is of a 30 minute duration. All swimming times are dependent on the injury, condition, age and stamina/fitness capabilities of the dog.

All programmes are payable in advance.

Rehabilitation - For dogs directly after surgery/injury. Swimming builds up affected areas slowly, but efficiently. Treatment is determined by the length of time between injury and receiving hydrotherapy. A dog seen within a week/10 days will make a much quicker recovery. Twice weekly sessions for 8 weeks.

Advanced Rehabilitation – For conditions that need ongoing therapy after surgery and the rehabilitation course. Weekly or fortnightly sessions.

Senior – Designed to maintain mobility and fitness. Suitable for old age and arthritis sufferers. Initial treatment twice weekly for 6 weeks. For continued maintenance an additional 8 sessions weekly or fortnightly to suit. We recommend Cartrophen injections, available at your Veterinary Practice. It is a disease modifying anti-osteoarthritic drug.

Obesity – Exercise designed to assist in weight loss, along with a diet recommended by a Veterinary Surgeon. 10 sessions on a weekly basis.

Fitness and Stamina - Intensive pool workouts to build up fitness and agility. Suitable for reasonably fit dogs with no current injury. 12 sessions on a twice weekly basis.

Basic – Appropriate for dogs with no current injury or condition, who enjoy swimming and have owners who appreciate the benefits of using a sanitised purpose built swimming pool. A weekly/fortnightly session for 10 weeks.
